American Citizen Registration
All U.S. citizens planning to visit long-term or reside in Norway should register with the Embassy. Registration will make your presence and whereabouts known in case it is necessary to contact you in an emergency. If you have applied for a passport at our Embassy since the early 1990’s, then you are already registered here. In accordance with the U.S. Privacy Act, information about you will not be released without your permission. You can register for any country via this link, e.g., if you are going to Kenya, you can register online before you go.
If you have previously registered, please be sure to notify us (osloamcit@state.gov) of any changes, e.g., change of address or name.
