Email services
Receive U.S. State Department policy news via email each morning, Monday-Friday.
The embassy emails the table of contents (toc) of a daily compendium of policy news to interested recipients each morning. The "Washington File" is a daily compilation of transcripts, policy statements, fact sheets, and other materials from U.S. government agencies conducting foreign policy. You can see today's issue of the Washington File in the Policy section of our website at norway.usembassy.no/washnews.html. The toc is distributed as a plain email, organized thematically and containing links to the articles themselves. The email you receive each morning will look like the excerpt in the example below - the file normally contains from 10-30 articles per day (note that the links below are "dummies", and will not link to the referenced articles).
If you would like to be included on the electronic mailing list, please send an email to irc[at sign]usa.no indicating the email address at which you would like to receive the Washington File. The Washington file is also available in Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese and Russian.
In addition to the Washington file, which is distributed by the embassy, the following topical news and information services are available via email from the Department of State's Office of International Information Programs. Each of these mailing lists delivers statements, texts, press briefings, transcripts, and speeches from officials in the U.S. government concerned with foreign policy matters. Subscription information may be found on the pages linked below.
