Embassy representatives visit high schools (April 23-24)

On April 23, Political Officer Kirk Samson visited an English class at Rud high school for a talk and discussion about U.S. politics. On the following day, Vice-Consul Jean Woynicki traveled to a high school in Tønsberg to share her insights about U.S. political processes and the 2008 presidential election.

The U.S. embassy is eager to reach out to schools and youth groups in Norway. Teachers might find that a visit by a representative from the embassy to discuss various or specific aspects of the United States is a useful supplement to the curriculum, and a good way to inspire discussion and participation among students.

We seek to accommodate requests by schools for speakers from the embassy as far as practically possible.  We also invite you to contact us if you'd like to bring your class on a "field trip" to the embassy. If your school is interested in  hosting a representative from the embassy, or if your class would like  to visit us here in Oslo,  please contact us by sending an e-mail to irc@usa.no
