“Fra King til Obama” Exhibition at the Nobel Peace Center (September 24, 2009)
On September 24, the Nobel Peace Center formally introduced its main fall exhibition “Fra King til Obama”. After a talk by Magnum photographer Eli Reed, the exhibition was opened by former NRK correspondent Bjørn Hansen to soul music by Noora Noor.
With Martin Luther King Jr. as the focal point, the exhibition takes you back to the U.S. civil rights movement in the 1950s and 60s. Through photos, speeches, music and films the audience can experience King and his movement from a time that changed America and laid the foundation for Barack Obama’s historic victory in the 2008 Presidential election.
The exhibition will run until April 11.
