Non-Immigrant Visas

Student/Exchange Visitor (F, J or M Visa)

In addition to the basic requirements for all visa applicants, those seeking a Student / Exchange Visitors Visa (F,M, or J) must also include the following:

  • COMPLETED DS-158 SUPPLEMENT FORM English or Norwegian. Please answer all questions. If a question does not apply to you, type N/A in the blank.
  • PROOF OF FUNDS TO COVER ALL EXPENSES. For example, bank statements, a letter from Lånekasse, etc.
  • DS-2019 FORM: All J visa applicants (including family members) must include their original DS-2019 form. (Everyone must have his/her own form.) All J visa traineeintern applicants with DS-2019 forms dated on or after July 19, 2007 must also have the DS-7002 Form "Training/Internship Placement Plan".
  • I-20 FORM: F and M visa applicants (including family members) must include their original I-20 form. (Everyone must have his/her own form.)

  • SEVIS FEE RECEIPT: Most applicants must pay a special fee (in addition to the $131 visa application fee) before applying for a visa. Pay fee.
