Inside the Embassy
Please line up infront of the Cashier when you enter the Visa Section in order to submit your documents. Please provide the Cashier with all required documents as described in our Checklist. The Cashier will give you a queue number. You will be asked to have a seat and wait to be called up by your number.
Once called up, one of our staff members will take your fingerprints. If you have a cut or blister that mars the prints on any of your fingers or thumbs, your application cannot be processed. You will be required to reschedule an appointment for a later date.
Our staff may ask for additional documents or have you sign documents which you submitted with your application. In order to make this process more efficient, please sign applicable documents before your interview (e.g. I-20 or DS-2019 form)
You will then be asked to have a seat again to wait for the consular officer to call you up for your interview. You will be called up by name.
At the end of your interview, the Visa Officer will inform you if your application has been approved or not, or if it needs to go through additional administrative processing.
All visa applications will be processed according to processing times stated on our website. It is not possible to expedite an U.S. visa application or for us to estimate delivery times thorugh the Norwegian postal system.
