Embassy invites youth to tour US Navy destroyer USS Barry (May 7)

The U.S. guided missile destroyer USS Barry (DGG-52) visited Oslo from May 6 to May 8, 2008, and on May 7, the Embassy invited youth from scout groups, the military academy and other organizations interested in the U.S. – Norway relationship to tour the ship. The ship, which was launched in 1991 and is a part of the U.S Atlantic Fleet, was an impressive sight, and her crew guided more than 100 people through its many decks and narrow stairways this sunny afternoon.
